An interesting part of EDM culture that’s exploded in the social media sphere is the concept of “previewing” songs. Artists will share snippets, often no longer than a minute or two, of their next single in advance of its release. I know for us, it just adds to the suspense and anticipation, especially when you get you hands (and ears) on bits and pieces of tracks like these below. Looks like our musical appetites will be satisfied quite nicely in December.
Also below is the latest Sounds of Now podcast from hot and rising Swedish DJ Mikael Weermets, featuring a slew of awesome bootlegs and massive tunes. Definitely give it a listen, and let’s get this week started right.

Happy Wednesday haus-heads – lots to share with you today! First, for all of our Boston friends: come jam with us at Felt this Friday! We’re opening up for Greg Schneider, and we’d love to see you out dancing the night away. We’ve got a ton of new music to share with you all, so hopefully we’ll see you there – doors open and we’ll be live right at 10PM. Speaking of new music, here’s a quick mixdown preview of an original Haus Boys production called “Take Off” – give it a listen and let us know what you think!

More new music – this is a preview of Afrojack’s latest massive tune, “Lionheart.” The man has been on an absolute tear with new music – from “Lunar” with David Guetta to “No Beef” with Steve Aoki, along with other collaborations and remixes with Shermanology, R3hab, Quintino, NERVO – the list goes on an on. The release is scheduled for release next week – 11/07 – and even that short of a wait is going to be torture!

Finally, we wanted to share a recent live set from one of our current favorites, Sander van Doorn. As if we weren’t convinced already, this is roughly an hour and half of Sander reminding us that he’s one of the best out there on the decks. Nonstop beats and an excellent track selection make this one of the better sets we’ve heard in a while. Enjoy!
Whoa. We could end our review right there. Electric Zoo 2011 was an incredible weekend of beats, bass, love and friendship. Words can’t fully describe the experience of sharing time, space and music with 80,000 other people who are there for the same reason. If you’re a house-head, and you haven’t been to one, start planning now – it’s beyond worth it. Check out some pictures and video below plus a slew of live sets including Afrojack, Hardwell, Sander Van Doorn and more.
